Changes and final post production

After being given feedback it was important to push on with making the final changes to our film. Firstly, we changed the sound, which was one of the hardest things to change because there is a limited amount of presentable copyright free music. Eventually we agreed on an intense and suspense building piece of music. At first we feared it would not work well however, putting it along side the film proved it to be successful.
Secondly, we discovered our film to be short of approximately 5 seconds meaning it was not up to standard of the brief. We began to discuss ideas for the ending of our film. We thought that we needed to build some more continuity and we agreed that instead of just fading to black it should fade into a shot of the actor waking up in bed and getting up so it is more clear to the viewer that there is more to the film. We think as it cuts as he's getting ready that it should make the viewer want to see more, as we have asked a handful of people watch the film, as a result they agree that they want to see more. However, this idea could be leaning toward a cliche, we are awaiting feedback to discover if any further changes need to be made to this part of our film.
Finally, we had a very dark shot in the film which I thought needed to be brighter as watching it back we discovered it was hard to see. Luckily a member of our team was experienced with the software Adobe After Effects in which he made our titles move and in which he fixed this shot. He increased the light on this shots and put a red filter on it, I believe this is more effective as the colour red denotes danger which reinforces the thriller genre.
Over all I think our film after these changes looks more like a thriller film and hopefully with building more continuity it gives more of a professional effect rather than just a student film.

Shoot 3

On the 30th January 2010 we filmed our third shoot at my house in Iver Heath. We filmed shots inside from the window and shots from outside the house looking into the window. This is to create the paranoia affect as you cannot see anyone from the window. This shot seemed to work really well and we will definitely include it into our film.
Problems we had were trying to keep the camera steady, as we were walking it was hard to keep the camera still and some shots are very shakey. Luckily enough we took enough shots to find the most still and we will include that in our film.
Another problem was the lighting, where the sun was at the time it was hard to keep shadows out of shot, we had to stop filming quite a few times and reposition ourselves. Luckily we managed to find a shot that there were not faults in.
Over all our filming was successful and we got some really useful footage.

The paranoia effect

As a group we were inspired by the exorcism of emily rose scene in which she sees demon faces as she walks. This links in with our story line when the young man thinks he is being watched. We want our scene to be like this:

The storyline

Based on the story of a young newly wedded man who murders his wife in a crime of passion after discovering her in bed with another man. After brutally murdering the pair he dumps their bodies and carries on with his life. His guilty secret is taking over his life and the paranoia kicks in, with everyone watching his every move the naive murderer finds his life has been turned upside down by this mentally demanding disease.

Second shoot: Reflection and Evaluation

On 23rd January 2010 we filmed our second shoot, filming more feet shots however we filmed along the cobbled streets of the old Uxbridge high street. We also filmed inside The Chimes Shopping Centre, filming escalator shots, elevator shots and shots walking up the stairs. We tried to get as many different types of shots as possible to give us more choice to work with. This time we overcame the steadiness issue by holding the tri-pod upside down and walking with that instead of holding the camera by hand, this means that we will have to edit all clips as we need to flip them. We were again using Andy Johnson as our main character in our film and anyone else in shot were just shoppers and luckily had no problem with us filming them.
